On April 4, 2009, that newest European Church of Scientology was opened at the seacoast city of Malmö, Sweden. Those in attendance came from 32 nations from Britain to Uganda to celebrate the historic dedication of a new phenomenal Church of Scientology. Mr. David Miscavige was the keynote speaker and was joined by many European dignitaries to honor the occasion.

In his speech, Mr. David Miscavige emphasized the importance of this new Church and the social betterment programs that will emanate from within its walls not only for the benefit of the people of Sweden but for all humankind.

Mr. David Miscavige: It is my pleasure and honor to join you on what is indeed an historical day for both our religion and, in due time, Sweden as a whole.

Because for all you have heard from our many distinguished guests with whom we've been so fortunate to work — well, the fact is this Church stands for many-fold that and more.
