On October 22, 2006, more than 3,000 Scientologists, friends, local, national and international dignitaries packed Queen Victoria Street in the heart of London for the sensational grand opening of the new home of the UK's oldest Scientology church, the Church of Scientology of London.

Mr. David Miscavige was the guest of honor and keynote speaker at the event. In his speech, Mr. David Miscavige reminded those attending that not only does London have a pivotal place in the history of the Scientology religion as the home of the first Scientology church in the United Kingdom, but it was the proving ground of the bulk of Mr. Hubbard's social betterment programs, which are used now to uplift neighborhoods all over the world.
